MISS RIO GRANDE VALLEY JR TEEN PAGEANT 2010

THE PAGEANT will be very glamorous, exciting and entertaining for you and any member of your family and friends who attend. It will truly be a very memorable experience and could lead to new opportunities in your life.
THE COMPETITION is divided into 3 categories: Personal Interview, Fashion wear, and Evening Gown. The judges will be looking for an all around winner. She may not be the most outstanding in any one category yet she will score highly in all categories. The judging is based on poise, personality, intelligence and beauty. There is no talent competition and no experience is necessary. In addition to choosing MISS RIO GRANDE VALLEY JUNIOR TEEN & MISS RIO GRANDE VALLEY PRE-TEEN, awards will be presented to the Most Photogenic, Best Evening Gown Presentation, Best Fashion Wear Presentation, Director’s Choice and Miss Congeniality.
WHERE & WHEN The pageant will be held on March 19, 2010 at 7:30 PM at the UTPA Fine Arts Auditorium located at 1201 W. University Dr. Edinburg,TX.
ORIENTATION will be held on Sunday, February 7th and Sunday, February 14th, 2010 at Vogue College of Cosmetology 800 W. Fern Ave. McAllen, TX. from 12:30 to 2:30 PM.
Workshops will be held at Vogue College of Cosmetology 800 W. Fern Ave. (behind HEB) McAllen, TX.
Once you register, you will be given a schedule of the dates and times of the workshops. Workshops will consist of the opening dance number, walking/modeling, personal interview, and on stage questions.
Rehearsals will take place at the UTPA Fine Arts Auditorium on Thursday, March 18, 2010 (time to be announced) and Friday, March 19, 2010 (time to be announced.)
Personal Interview with judges will be held on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 4:00 PM (location to be announced.)

1. Evening Gown – Gown should be full length, fit you well and compliment your own coloring and physical features.
2. Personal Interview Attire – You should wear a daytime outfit that you feel is appropriate for an interview, something that suits your taste and personality. A good guideline would be to ask yourself, what you would wear for a press conference or television interview.
3. Opening Production Number – To be announced.
4. Fashion wear – You will model an outfit of your choice. Something that is fashionable.
You will be given a sash with your name on it to wear throughout the competition. Please bring your sash with you to the interview and pageant. Please take care of your sash because you will be wearing it throughout the pageant.
PHOTO’S – You will need to turn in (2) two 5X7 color headshots of the same pose as soon as possible.
FEES AND WHAT THEY COVER - Your entry fee is $395.00. You can pay the entry fee in payments. This includes a half page ad in the program book, which will include your photo, name and sponsor acknowledgments. You have the option of purchasing additional full page ads in the program book for $200.00. Fees may be obtained from a sponsor, a group of sponsors, family, friends, or the contestant herself. Any donation from a business may be tax deductible as an advertising expense. I have a sponsor letter for you to give to your sponsors explaining the costs. Fees can be paid for by check, money order or cash. All fees are completely non-refundable. Please make checks payable to Miss Rio Grande Valley Pageant.
