The MISS RIO GRANDE VALLEY DOUBLE PAGEANT, formerly known as the Miss Rio Grande Valley USA and Miss Rio Grande Valley Teen USA pageants, accept delegates to participate in this outstanding local pageant year round. We are still the great pageant we have been in the past. Due to a directive from the Miss Universe Organization, local pageants may no longer use USA in their titles, but we will continue to follow the same guidelines we have always followed.

You can become a contestant! If you are single (never married/never given birth to a child), a United States citizen, between the ages of  (Teen) 14-17 and (Miss) 18-25 and a resident or a student in the Rio Grande Valley.

Throughout the USA pageant system, from the local level to the international level, delegates are judged in (3) areas:

 

-Interview Competition - Pageant judges spend time with each delegate to learn about her successes, talents, goals and ambitions. Attention is focused on her poise, charm, self-confidence and her ability to communicate, as well as the substance of her answers.

-Swimsuit Competition - Attention is focused on beauty of face, figure, physical fitness, and the confidence with which each contestant carries herself. Numerical measurements are not considered in the judging.

 

-Evening Gown Competition - Each delegate wears a gown she has chosen for herself. Attention is focused on each contestant's overall appearance, self-confidence, sense of style and the beauty she brings to the gown of her choice.

 

(There is no talent competition and no experience is necessary.)
